Porcupine United FC is officially affiliated with the governing bodies that connect our players to competitive soccer at the district, provincial, and national levels.
DISTRICT ASSOCIATION
Greater North Soccer Association
PUFC is a proud member club of the GNSA — the governing body for soccer across Northeastern Ontario. The GNSA was formed on January 2, 2023, amalgamating four district associations: Soccer North, Soccer Northeast, Sudbury Regional, and Sault Amateur Soccer Association.
The GNSA oversees 18 member clubs across a vast geographic region, including Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, North Bay, Kapuskasing, Cochrane, Timmins, Kirkland Lake, Temiskaming Shores, and Parry Sound.
As a GNSA member, PUFC players compete in sanctioned leagues and tournaments, with access to Long Term Player Development (LTPD) programs and Ontario Soccer's grassroots standards.
PROVINCIAL GOVERNING BODY
Ontario Soccer
Ontario Soccer was founded in 1901, making it one of the oldest and largest sport organizations in Canada. With over 500,000 registered participants — including players, coaches, referees, and administrators — it governs the sport across the entire province.
Ontario Soccer is composed of 16 District Associations (including the GNSA) and over 500 youth and senior clubs across Ontario. It is a proud member of Canada Soccer and connected to FIFA, the world governing body for soccer.
Through our GNSA membership, PUFC players are connected to Ontario Soccer's provincial development programs, creating a clear pathway from youth recreation all the way to national-level play.
